Wireless EV Inductive Charging Coils – NEOSID WPT Technology Now Available from BEC Distribution
BEC Distribution is pleased to introduce NEOSID wireless power transfer (WPT) coil technology for inductive charging systems used in electric vehicles and advanced mobility platforms.
Wireless inductive charging, also known as inductive power transfer (WPT), allows electric vehicles to recharge without physical connectors. Instead of plugs and cables, electrical energy is transferred through a magnetic field between two magnetically coupled coils: a transmitter coil integrated into the charging infrastructure and a receiver coil installed in the vehicle.
When a vehicle is positioned above the charging pad, alternating current in the transmitter coil generates a high-frequency magnetic field. This field couples with the receiver coil and transfers energy contactlessly across an air gap, where it is converted into electrical power to charge the vehicle battery.
Inductive charging systems eliminate exposed electrical connectors, reduce mechanical wear and enable automated charging solutions. Wireless charging infrastructure can be integrated into parking areas, fleet depots, public transport stops and even roadways, allowing vehicles to charge while stationary or in motion.
Working closely with NEOSID, a specialist manufacturer of magnetic components and ferrite technologies, BEC Distribution supports engineers and system designers developing next-generation wireless charging systems by supplying high-performance magnetic components and custom coil solutions.
Typical application areas include:
- electric passenger vehicles (EVs)
- electric buses and public transport systems
- autonomous and industrial vehicles
- fleet and depot charging systems
- logistics and warehouse automation vehicles
